The National Executive Leadership (NEL) is the highest authority in the party and consists of 20 members. The National Executive Leadership (NEL) consists of 3 levels.

The first level Executive Leadership (1-NEL) consists of 4 executive seats, which is occupied by the registered party leader who initiated and steered the re-registration of the NP.

The second level (2-NEL) consist of 7 non-executive members, all with equal voting powers within the National Executive.

The third level (3-NEL) consist of the 9 provincial leaders which bring the total seats of the NEL to 20, all with equal voting powers.

The person who occupies the position as IEC registered National Leader has the right the veto any decision by any Executive Committe of the National Party.

The identities of the remaining National Executive members will be announced in weeks to come when negotiations with various NATS and other stakeholders are completed. The entire 15-member NEL forms a collective leadership, with the chairmanship rotating among the members, when a situation arises where the constitution has to be adjusted.

Currently the NP's leadership is based on a collective model under the executive leadership of the National Leader.  All positions on National Party structures currently are interim until the NP National Congress after the elections in 2010.

The National and Provincial members as listed below will form the core of our list of candidates for the upcoming elections in 2014 which will be signed off by the National Leader and forwarded to the IEC.
